Madrid, 30 July 2019. The third edition of ‘Madrid Hotel Week’, an initiative promoted by the Hotel Business Association of Madrid (AEHM), is consolidated as the event of the sector to have a greater number of participating establishments, as well as collaborating activities and institutions three months from its inception.
“In 2018 more than 50 hotels participated and more than 100 activities were carried out in different establishments throughout Madrid. That we have already surpassed these figures is a success and a clear sign that the sector is committed to offering a differential product with which to attract Madrid and visitors,” said from the AEHM.
This year, the Association has opted for a more surprising and experiential edition with which it wants to publicize the role played by this sector in promoting the image of Madrid and its hotels that, through actions such as this, have become a more attractive destination thanks to the many possibilities offered beyond accommodation.
“We have chosen this motto because we all have wishes we would like to fulfill. Madrid Hotel Week’ will make some of these dreams come true thanks to the surprising and innovative activities…”
After ‘In your hotel or mine?’ and ‘Better than at Home’, the claim chosen on this occasion is ‘Make your wish’. “We have chosen this slogan because we all have wishes that we would like to fulfill. Madrid Hotel Week’ will make some of these dreams come true thanks to the surprising and innovative activities that can be enjoyed in different hotel spaces not only in the capital, but also in municipalities such as Las Rozas, Collado Villaba or Alcala de Henares, among others.
As in previous editions, the first three days (Monday 11, Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 November) will be aimed at professionals in the sector, who may attend different roundtables and conferences such as those offered, for example, Booking, El Corte Inglés Empresas, the consulting firm STR Global and CBRE or Caixa Bank.
It will be from Thursday 14 November until Sunday 17 when the hotels open their doors to all audiences with a wide variety of activities among which will be repeated some of the most successful last year. Attractive gastronomic proposals; sensory experiences with original culinary elaborations; avant-garde cocktails; masterclasses for children and adults; guided tours of emblematic hotels in the city, as well as recently opened ones; art and fashion exhibitions; solidarity cinema; a family gymkhana; micro-theatre; solidarity concerts; live musical performances or experiences in wellness spaces are some of the proposals to be found at ‘Madrid Hotel Week’ 2019.
For example, those who wish can enjoy a secret dinner in different rooms of a hotel, visit a museum of old cars inside an establishment that travels through the history of Madrid through its exhibits or participate in a painting contest with a special prize for the winner. Fashion and theatre lovers will have the opportunity to see first hand the costumes used in many of the capital’s musicals and people who enjoy taking care of themselves will be able to enjoy a ‘beauty party’. In addition, it will also be possible to observe the firmament while tasting a tapa prepared for the occasion, attend a sample of product design, participate in a game of clues, riddles and riddles or see ephemeral hotel spaces in different parts of the city thanks to the work developed by students of the Degree in Interior Design at the Polytechnic University.
For this third edition of ‘Madrid Hotel Week’ the Hotel Business Association of Madrid has again had the support of the Tourism Area of the City of Madrid, the Directorate General of Trade and Partnership, National Heritage, as well as other private institutions that have seen in this initiative an opportunity to offer Madrid citizens and tourists the opportunity to live new experiences and know Madrid as a destination.
The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, the Sorolla Museum, the Lázaro Galdiano or the Official College of Architects of Madrid (COAM) will also have a leading role in this event, which will also have the special collaboration of Mastercard, Mahou, Las Rozas Village or Celeste to which more participants will be added over the coming weeks.
